Arabian Themed Birthday

The Cotswolds, September 2016

Arriving at this Arabian themed birthday party, guests enjoyed a champagne and canapes reception on the lawn as sun set. As guests made their way down a fire lit walkway and through detailed saffron linings, to the indoor equine arena which we had transformed into an Arabian themed oasis with the help of a incredible lined  CMC Marquee tent.

Following a warming welcome speech, guests took their seats at the long dining tables, each named after an iconic historical location along the ancient Silk Road. Beautifully dressed with brass dishes and colourful lanterns, fruit overflowed from the bowls providing an array of textures and shapes. Intricately detailed votive caused light and colour to dance around the space and fill the room.

Towering palm trees stationed around the room were wrapped in flourishes of gold, providing deep green colours and height to the Arabian themed marquee.

A sharing starter of colourful and irresistible dishes including curried aubergine, tender stem broccoli with smoked salmon and confit duck was followed by a whole roasted poussin accompanied with spiced cauliflower and pomegranate, served with red and black quinoa, raw vegetable slaw, barberries and feta. Delivered on a vintage cake stand, guests enjoyed a trio of mini desserts filled with scented and colourful flavours, they enjoyed hibiscus panna cotta, orange, vanilla & pistachio baklava and orange, polenta and caradmon cake.

After dinner we revealed a starlit dance floor, set amongst a desert backdrop our DJ kept the dance floor filled long into the night. Set amongst the floor furniture we provided guests with cheeses, dips and flatbreads to enjoy throughout the evening.

For those wishing to escape and enjoy a moments peace, we created an authentic chill out area with low Arabian themed furniture, comfy floor cushions, beautifully decorated sofas and detailed wooden tables.

After an evening of dancing and celebrating, Alastair Currie Events returned the following morning ready with bacon baps for the hungry revellers who had resided within the marquee.

I had a thoroughly memorable time - and I know that my friends did too, not least because many of them have complimented the methodical organisation of the party, the decoration, and the meal. It was exactly what we were hoping for, and so we're very grateful for the work that you and Alastair have put in since Easter, and for having to deal with all our various demands and amendments!
