Ashton Court lies just 2 miles from the centre of Bristol. Set with 850 acres of rolling parkland, there is an abundance of green space available for hire or personal enjoyment.

Internationally renowned as the host of the iconic Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, the estate is the ideal spot for outdoor corporate events, festivals or sporting occasions. Inside the Grade I listed mansion, sensational rooms are available for private hire including weddings, parties and school ceremonies or leaving events.

The estate boasts two eighteen hole pitch and put golf courses, specialised trails for serious mountain biking and orienteering as well as an abundance of space for family enjoyment, dog walking, horse riding or simply escaping the city. As well as having it’s own miniature railway, Ashton Court remains one of the few places you can try disk golf.

History:

The mansion house is believed to date back to the Roman era, with some doors in the venue being made from Roman mosaic. Since its initial development in the 6th century, Ashton Court Mansion has seen many a famous architect demolish, rebuild and re-invent it; as a result of it’s continual historical redevelopment the mansion house is now filled with intricate mazes, secret rooms and leading passageways. Ashton Court remained the property of nobles until 1545 where it was sold to Bristol merchant John Smyth, the estate was owned by the Smyth family for over 400 years, during which time they entertained a host of royal guests including Kind Edward VII, King Charles II and Queen Anne of Denmark. Due to the buildings crumbling walls and spirling post war expense, the property was sold to Bristol City Council is 1959.  It remains, as it has done for over 600 years, a flourishing deer park.
