Black and Gold Theme Party

Bristol Grammar School, January 2018

Eye catching, dramatic and utterly stylish – this black and gold theme party was the perfect celebration.

As guests made their way up the sweeping staircase of  Bristol Grammar School  they were welcomed with a glass of sparkling prosecco. Ideal to enjoy whilst appreciating and reflecting on all the photographs which lined the walls of the enchanting entrance well. For our recently married couple, their 50th birthdays were the perfect opportunity to gather friends and family together who weren’t able to make their wedding in Australia.

Arriving to the stop of the stairs, guests were greeted by an impressive gold circular bar with a towering and blooming plume of stunning black feathers and golden glitter erupting from the centre. Surrounded by golden plinths, guest could choose to stand around the bar or sit at the golden chairs, tables complete with black linen and reflective golden centre pieces.

No detail was left to chance, naming the colour coded drinks after our birthday couple; to get the party started, our guests chose to ring a gong throughout the hall at random moments, calling each guest to join them in taking a shot – invited to choose one of three black or gold shots.

After the circulation of fresh pasties, hot steak or delicious cheese and onion, our hosts took to the stage to thank their guests, before toasting with a shot! A five tier cake took pride of place on the stage, the chocolate sponge layered with salted caramel was decorated with black diamonds and edible 24 carat gold flakes. The show stopping masterpiece from Cuppa Cakery looked incredible as dappled light bounced off the golden bar and around the room.

With the dance floor of this black and gold theme party staying full until the early hours, guests were treated to cake midnight munchies before heading into Bristol.

We could not be more pleased with how it went; we are still basking in the glow of it all.  I think literally everybody had the most fantastic night.  We are so incredibly grateful for how hard you all worked leading up to and on the night itself.  We were very impressed with how you made everything go like clockwork and the high levels of professionalism from everyone working on the night.
