The Perfect Winter Wedding

Gloucestershire, December 2011

A modern winter wedding, we swapped classic white snow scenes for luxurious, rich colours and warming atmosphere. Bright, crisp and frosty, the weather provided the perfect backdrop for magical photographs.

Following their church service, the bride and groom opted to provide guests with a winter warming treat of sloe gin shots – setting the tone perfectly for the day ahead. Arriving at the manor, the wedding party was treated to a quintessential afternoon tea, this winter wedding served a selection of classic and hugely popular sandwiches as guests enjoyed an afternoon reception – complete with wedding cupcakes!

Filled with personal speeches wedding party, the afternoon quickly passed as guests were called into dinner. Tables were dressed in black linen, with the bespoke marquee filled with black star lit linings; atmospheric and mysterious we filled the tables with candles to create beautiful shadows amongst the cosy space.

Instead of a classic starter, 180 evening guests were treated to large canapes of sticky Asian spiced pork belly, monkfish and pancetta brochettes, lobster medallion with scallop mousse and cavier, seared pigeon breast, pumpkin and pine nut risotto balls and quails egg on crostini. Followed by a delicious main consisting of beef medallions with red onion potato rosti, seared foie gras, roasted baby carrots and madeira jus. Completing the winter wedding theme, dessert included Scandinavian iced berries with white chocolate and vanilla sauce – finished with a variety of delectable cheeses and chutneys for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.

With nannies on site to help take care of the smaller party goers, guests were free to enjoy the bespoke nightclub all night long. Hidden behind a fake wall and complete with a sparkly LED dance floor and impressive stage, the nightclub was revealed to rapturous applause and excitement from guests – a brilliant way addition to the evenings proceedings. As the band brought the night club to life, the bride and groom took the floor for the first dance, as they were surrounded by friends and family they continued to dance all night long.

Thank you for having played such a large role in making the wedding such a huge success. It all went so well due to your fantastic organisation, all your hard work and attention to detail. It was an incredibly happy and fun wedding – thank you.
