Clifton College Anniversary Celebrations

Clifton College, June 2018

Returning for a very special Clifton College Anniversary, 160 previous members of the Polack’s House Educational Trust, including trustees, old students, families and staff came together for a 25th Anniversary celebration on Sunday 24th June 2018.

For over 140 years, Clifton College has supported the growing Jewish community within it’s student body. The Polack House Educational Trust is an independent charitable organisation that provides bursaries and scholarships for Jewish students. Alastair Currie Events were delighted to work alongside both the charity, Old Cliftonian Society and school to deliver this anniversary event.

The event incorporated speeches from trust officials, Head of Clifton College Dr Tim Greene, Guest of Honour Sir Trevor Chinn, incoming Chairman Alan Karter, retiring Chairman Nick Tarsh and Julian Saipe.

The day included a delicious lunch on the lawn of The Close in a superb CMC Marquees structure, the clear walls allowing guests to look out over the immaculate lawns and sensational back drop of the college. As the days entertainment, a highly competitive and skilled game of cricket unfolded guests were able to enjoy the summer sunshine with chilled refreshments. For those staying within the shade, a selection of historic photographs and memorabilia lined the marquee – providing the perfect flashback to the students time at the college and the Trust’s history.

The 25th Anniversary of the Polack House Educational Trust was a hugely enjoyable day, with many already looking forward to the 50th year celebrations. This Clifton College Anniversary event finalised what had been a hugely enjoyable and successful year, culminating in the Commemoration weekend back in May.
