Thatchers Haze Sessions

Passenger Shed, May 2016

To celebrate the launch of Thatchers Haze, we transformed The Passenger Shed (or Old Brunel Station) into an incredible indoor music festival.  As the official cider of Glastonbury Festival, Thatchers already has a strong affiliation with live music and therefore the launch of Thatchers Haze seemed the perfect opportunity for a mini festival. Continuing it’s festival associations – all the music was hand picked by Boom Towns Head of Music Kaptin Barrett, his selection focused on the very best of the upcoming and coming artists.

No detail was overlooked as our production team created a state of the art music venue in the heart of Bristol. Complete with an impressive stage canopy, full festival lighting and sound equipment – there was no doubt that this was “What Music Should Sound Like”.

As guests arrived into the reception area, they were welcomed by the stunning acoustics of Sophii Negus. After being called through the main stage they were entertained by Keston Cobblers Club, Melody Causton, Anteros, Rachel Clark and Showhawks before By The Rivers performed the finale and an incredible encore. Compered by Radio 1’s Huw Stephens, guests were treated to rapturous comedy, amusing stories and interviews throughout.

Fosters Catering were on hand to create the Haze and Graze station, providing traditional festival food in the form of incredible burgers – the perfect accompaniment to a Thatchers Haze.

On tap throughout the night, Thatchers was served from two branded bars. The first, an illuminating LED round bar wrapped in Thatchers logo, with a towering LED tree standing centre bar,  it looks sensational and eye catching against the stage lighting. The second, a long, rustic bar glad with traditional wooden slats served a wide variety of Thatchers cider for anyone looking for something a little different.

Whether dancing their socks off or enjoying the acoustic sets from the giant wooden deck chairs, there wasn’t far to move to grab the next refreshment especially as event lanyards which doubled up as bottle openers provided the perfect take home gift. With all the above action, it’s no surprise #HazeSessions was trending at number 1 on twitter!

I was extremely proud to update the Directors and Senior Managers yesterday in our Monday meeting about how the event went and what experience you all managed to create. You have all done an excellent job!
