Believed to date back to the Roman era, Ashton Court Mansion has undergone extensive redevelopment since the 6th century. The house features fascinating architectural details, including intricate mazes, secret rooms, and leading passageways. Owned by the noble Smyth family for over 400 years, the estate hosted royal guests like King Edward VII, King Charles II, and Queen Anne of Denmark. Due to post-war expenses, the property was sold to Bristol City Council in 1959. Today, it remains a flourishing deer park with a legacy spanning over 600 years.
