The Downs School offers incredible flexibility for any event, with expansive grounds, a beautiful treehouse for wedding ceremonies, and endless opportunities for personalisation. Host a drinks reception on the front or back lawns or choose the original wood-panelled hall for a more intimate gathering. Events can take place inside the school or in a marquee, and the grounds even allow for a glamping setup to make your celebration truly unique. With no catering affiliations, you’re free to choose your own suppliers, and the lack of neighbours means you can enjoy fireworks and late-night celebrations without restrictions.

The oldest part of The Downs School is the East Wing, built during the reign of Henry VIII, while the Jacobean front hall features a striking fireplace dated 1624. In 1927, the main house was relocated from Clifton to its current location on the Tyntesfield Estate, escaping the city’s growing noise. Purchased in 2002 by Lord Wraxall for The Downs School, the property’s rich history and picturesque grounds make it a truly unique venue.
