Bollywood inspired parties comes to Bristol! Alastair Currie Events were delighted to be invited to work alongside Clifton College in their annual commemoration celebrations.
We provided complete event management across all the celebrations, as well as all structures, furniture, entertainment, staffing, decoration and technical requirements.
The 25m x 50m structure took pride of place next to the schools rugby pitches, affectionately known as The Close, and provided enough room for over 1,800 guests to sit comfortably and enjoy the speeches and award ceremonies which preceded the leaver’s ball. After several days of lunches and and assemblies, we transformed the space into a Bollywood inspired party hub ready for Saturday nights celebrations.
600 guests, including leavers, their families and teaching staff, enjoyed an amazing sharing menu of Indian delicacies created by Fosters Event Catering. Starters included onion bhajis, vegetable samosa, prawn pakora and a selection of fresh poppadoms and dips. Followed by chicken murgh masala with ginger spices, moghul style lamb with almonds with a vegetarian offering of aloo gobi, cauliflower, potato and tomatoes. Accompanied by pilaff rice and chapati naan bread. Served on cake stands, dessert included gulab jamun, cashew nut barfi, chilled kheer and mango halwa.
We took great joy in dessert being announced with a swirling, glittering array of Bollywood dancers and drummers processing onto the central dancefloor. After astounding the guests with their routines, the dancers led the marquee in a workshop – some great Bollywood moves! – which really got the party started.
Guests danced under the Indian fabric and parasols suspended in the roof to our vibrant and energetic covers band, also enjoying the casino and photo booth along with a fully stocked bar into the early hours. Dodgems were located outside as a ‘surprise’ element for guests, revealed after dining, which are always a hit with the pupils and parents alike!
