We were thrilled to return to The Downs School for this summertime colourful wedding. After arriving down the sweeping, tree lined driveway, our couples vintage car remained on site for some great photographs.
A selection of canapes including maple glazed belly pork with crackling, smoked duck breast, pilton cider & cheddar rarebit, beetroot with goats cheese and orange, chillied gazpacho & basil were served as guests enjoyed a champagne reception on the front lawn of the school.
As guests made their way through the main school building and out onto the rear gardens, they were met with an impressive stretch marquee. Inside, this colourful wedding was filled with duck egg blue lanterns suspended amongst the white festoon lighting. Dappled lighting, reflective and flickering tea lights, candlesticks and candlabras ensured the space remained light and bright throughout the evening.
On the tables, warm ivory linen hosted fresh floral arrangements which were bursting with colour. Reflecting perfectly from the natural lighting, the tent became an oasis of kaleidoscopic movement. Handwritten name tags and personalised table names added the perfect personal touches.
Seated for dinner, guest were treated to slow cooked pulled lamb was dressed with pomegranate and mint, accompanies with new potatoes with roasted vegetables, smoked bacon and samphire salad with sourdough croutons and chargrilled yellow & green courgettes with ricotta and pine nuts. A trio of delectable desserts included dark chocolate & praline tart, gooseberry & elder flower fool and a raspberry & vanilla millefeuille.
After dinner, the marquee was transformed into an incredible nightclub and midnight munchies of beef and onion pasties proved hugely popular amongst guests.
As carriages were called, guests gathered together with sparklers to ensured our couple had an exceptional send off – glistening in the darkness they ensured the colourful wedding lastest as long as possible – a hugely memorable way to end the day for our happy couple.
