Raising funds and awareness for Centrepoint, twenty distinguished and generous restaurants donated 40 litres of soup each (with an incredible variety of recipes and flavours!) for the passing public to make a donation in exchange for a hot lunch accompanied by gorgeous bread from Gail’s and Paul’s bakeries and the option for a sweet treat in the form of hot chocolate and brownies. Soup was kindly donated from restaurants such as The Ned, Brasserie Blanc, Selfridges and Ottolengi.
With over £15,000 raised in the four hours the market was open for, it was a huge success, with any leftover soup being donated to one of three local homeless shelters. We also had three local primary school choirs join us for carols and a brilliant ’15 minute Laksa’ cooking demonstration from Ben Lebus, Founder at MOB Kitchen on our demo stage.
Alastair Currie Events was pleased to provide all event design and management, covering all structures, cooking equipment, production and décor, and also sourced two excellent chefs who prepped all the soup alongside LGT Vestra volunteers who ladled out soup to the hungry masses for the afternoon. It was a great event and a pleasure to be involved in this fantastically festive fundraiser for a second year running.
