In early May Alastair Currie Events ventured to London for Alastair’s 14th Moonwalk. Each year thousands of men and women embrace the years chosen theme and decorate their walking bras and often their entire outfits, walking through the night, Moonwalk has helped raise millions of pounds which is donated to help fund research and fight breast cancer. As this years cohort set off, Alastair Currie Events were behind the scenes to ensure the complete smooth running and seamless logistics.
On site ten days before the public, Alastair Currie Events were responsible for managing the site, crew, health and safety and all-round delivery and build of the Moonwalk village. This included the installation of all the marquees, fencing, roadwork, power, lighting and suppliers. Comprised of several structures which serve as storage, kitchens, offices, hospitals, shops and entertainment spaces – the primary Moonwalk tent is the largest pint tent in Europe.
During the event, we were on hand to deal with any matters that required attention and ensured that each crew was equipped with everything they needed for a successful event. With upto 18,000 men and women on site we are always prepared for numerous eventualities, drawing on all our experience and knowledge to help prepare and prevent any mishaps. As the walkers crossed the finish line Alastair Currie Events commenced the de-rig of the village; from liaising with and supporting suppliers to organizing the collection of all the equipment, Alastair Currie Events were responsible for ensuring that Clapman Common was left immaculate.
A wonderful few weeks was had by all and the event was a great success, it was a pleasure to work with some of our long-standing suppliers who provide continual support and excellent service to this incredible fundraiser. We look forward to seeing them all again soon when we take over Holyrood Park for Moonwalk Edinburgh.
