The annual Thatcher’s Wassail celebration is one of our favourite events to plan and deliver, with a fantastic amount of energy and heart at its core.
The tradition of the Wassail is held firm at the Thatcher’s home on Myrtle Farm , with lots of ceremonial moments throughout the guest journey to welcome in the new crop of apples and ensure a good harvest for the year ahead!
Alastair Currie Events delivers a stunning 15m Clearspan marquee each year, with clear roof panels and festoon lighting, for this special occasion. We are one of the few marquee providers in the South West that can deliver such a high quality 15m wide marquee with a premium wooden floor and clear roof panels – all within our own in-house equipment from our sister business CMC Marquees . The way the festoon lighting reflects in the clear roof panels makes the space feel really sparkly and special. We also ensure that the uplighting is warm and welcoming, and more dancefloor ready into the evening!
Along with ensuring that we chose the right style marquee and lighting, we also worked with one of our regular furniture suppliers for some beautiful vintage trestle tables and matching wooden dining chairs. These work so well in a rustic themed marquee, and provide a great deal of warmth and personality to the space – also doing away with the need for any linen which provides clean lines and a great unfussy finish.
The evening unfolds with a large bonfire, performance from the Mendip Morris Men and also some after-dinner entertainment with a magician and a covers band until the end of the night.
We once again had a really special event in Sandford for the annual Wassail, and we hope that you enjoy the video from the evening too.
