Masquerade Ball at Clifton College

Clifton College, May 2018

Finalised with a Masquerade ball, Alastair Currie Events were delighted to return to Clifton College to deliver a week of Commemoration Celebrations.

As the sun shone we welcomed Old Cliftonian’s who graduated prior to 1966. They were welcomed with a chapel service and summery buffet lunch before enjoying tours of the much-changed school and their old boarding houses. A wonderful occasion to witness old friends reconvene and share special memories.

Both the pre–school and upper school enjoyed a day of speeches for 900 and 1,800 respectively, reflecting on their time at the school and their opportunities as leavers – both of these were followed by seated buffet lunches. We also co-ordinated and support an inter-house dance competition on the Friday evening and re-set after the upper school speeches and lunch on the Saturday to welcome 450 sixth form students, their parents and teachers to a celebratory ball.

Dressed with decadent feathers, sparkling centerpieces and detailed masks, the masquerade ball looking stunning as the sun set on the CMC marquee.

Created by Fosters Event Catering, guests were treated to a sensational Italian banquet. Beautiful Insalata caprese and mozzerella di bufala served with vine tomatoes and drizzled in oils was followed by rosemary & garlic roasted chicken or goats cheese, pea and mint parcel, served with cauliflower & Parmesan puree, potato fondente, asparagus and salsa verde. Guests were treated to a mouth watering cioccolato and orange tart, finished with a wide selection of cheeses.

As evening fell the dancefloor filled and the wonderful band ensured that everyone was on their feet until the early hours.

The logistics and overall management of the entire event falls to Alastair Currie Events, covering the structures, power, lighting, furniture, staging, linen, hire and kitchen provision and all the staffing to make the events happen for the transition between each set up. The bar, catering, entertainment and décor for the ball is also managed by Alastair Currie Events with input from the Clifton College ball committee. A great event with a lot of time and focus to ensure a brilliant delivery each and every year.
