After taking its final flight in 2003, Concorde has become the perfect venue for a charity fundraiser through it’s symbol of strength, determination, originality and pioneering technology. There was no better place to host this year’s Prince’s Trust Red Dinner than under the wings of Concorde.
As guests arrived down the red carpet, they were welcomed onto the viewing gallery for their first glimpse of the iconic Concorde. Standing at the nose is not only a great photo opportunity, but a personal moment to reflect on the sheer scale of the plane.
Guests enjoyed a Laurent Perrier Champagne reception entertained by Prince’s Trust young business performers, including a sensational Cirque de Silk artist. Following the reception guests were invited to their seats, or in this case, airport as each table represented a different holiday destination.
Throughout dinner a silent auction was available for guests to place their bids, after mains everyone was on their feet for a brilliantly entertaining game of heads or tails – all helping to increase the total amount raised. Following speeches from four Prince’s Trust Young Ambassadors the live auction commenced, with prizes that included exotic holidays, remote ski chalet breaks, designer jewellery and corporate tickets to England’s upcoming rugby matches. With jeroboams of Laurent Perrier champagne on offer, the final announcement was encouraging audience members to make a pledge to the trust – certainly a popular one!
As the band took to the stage, the dance floor filled as guest began to dance the night away.
As the red dinner drew to a close, the charity were proud to announce £150,000 had been raised on the night. A staggering total that will change the lives of many young people across the South West.
