We were delighted to support the LGT Vestra Festive Soup Market, based in Paternoster Square, London. All proceeds from the day were donated to Streets of London, a charity dedicated to helping end homelessness across the city through essential fund raising and awareness building programs.
Arriving on site in the early hours, our electrical and marquee teams worked tirelessly to have the structures in place ahead of the early morning commuters. A particularly tight build and de-rig schedule saw us relying on all our experience and excellent support teams to meet the deadlines on a rainy December day.
For atmosphere and light, we suspended festoon lighting around the service stations – the perfect festive addition to volunteers dressed in their finest Santa hats under the towering Christmas trees.
Open throughout the day, members of the public were able to make a donation to the charity in return for their tasty lunch. As well as soup, fresh crusty bread and fragrant mulled wine were available. The soup was kindly donated by a host of well-known restaurants, their support was unwavering with over 1000 litres of donated soup! Local choirs and primary schools were invited to join this hugely festive occasion and sing a selection of festive Christmas carols, the incredible sound of the live music carrying across Paternoster Square.
Following a brilliant day, we were delighted that the LGT Vestra Festive Soup Market raised a brilliant £10,252 for Streets of London.
We’re hugely excited for this soup market to return in 2019 and beyond, it’s a pleasure to support this influential charity and deliver amazing food to hungry lunch time workers! For the latest updates make sure you’re following our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages.
