We now enter Step Three of the Government Roadmap as of Monday 17th May, and the question is – what does this mean for events?

Well firstly, with the roadmap moving forward and gatherings of up to 30 guests now possible, we are seeing a real increase in enquiries as people start to consider what their Summer might look like – and of course enquiries reaching into Autumn and Winter, and beyond into 2022 and 2023.
As per our last blog post (read it here!) we’re ready and waiting for your call – for any event design & management, wedding or party planning for Bristol and the South West.
So, what can happen now? The guidance is detailed, and we can talk you through every nuance and each option dependent on your requirements and desired event approach!

So, just by way of an update, what are Alastair Currie Events working on presently?

As always, we’re working on a wide range of spectacular event plans (weddings, parties, birthdays, family celebrations) for clients in Bristol and throughout the South West (we work in Somerset, Gloucestershire, Devon, Cornwall & Dorset on a regular basis). We are working at a huge variety of venues (you can read more about some of our regulars and favourites here) and also on private property in client’s gardens and on a variety of land types including green fields, concrete yards and orchards.
Corporate events, conferences, product launches and Christmas parties are all being discussed at great length – experiential & brand gives you a bit more detail about our approach. As always, whether it’s ‘in real life’, hybrid or online (have you seen our great video of our Socially Distanced Studios space?) we’ve got the skills to really make things rock.

What about Covid?

This is where being bespoke party planners works in our favour, we build from the ground up (or from the venue up, if we’re working at a chosen location!) to suit the brief. This means we are completely flexible with adaptations for a safer environment for events to take place and we are of course completely committed to delivering a fantastic experience for all. You can read more on our dedicated Covid page here.
We will follow all Government guidance as released (Step Three is viewable here) and we are awaiting guidance for Step Four. We are absolutely focused on the importance of safety for our clients, their guests and indeed our staff. We are full of confidence and optimism about getting back to marking special occasions, but we are only as good as our last delivery – and this is particularly the case when it comes to Covid. We need to operate safely and securely, as our business strives to get back to doing what it loves and being known for being a safe pair of hands for a fantastic event experience with Covid in mind.
We’ve got lots of event, and Covid event experience, you can read more about our ‘Stunning & Safe – Parties at Home‘ offering, which included structures, as per our blog post published July 2020. Going forward we are focusing on the present guidance as published by the UK Government, and delivering for each bespoke client the safe, secure, creative and impactful options desired for bringing people together. It’s all about the clients, and that’s what we are working towards – delivering hopes and dreams, safely.

Being flexible, and how we’re approaching enquiries

Delivering celebrations further into 2021 could continue to see a different approach (see what we planned for one couple in Summer 2020 here). Whether it’s a micro-wedding (intimate and personal) or a nimble approach completely focused on flexibility (working within any up to the minute guidance, and responsiveness to this at the core of your plans) we’re here for every client.
The Covid events approach doesn’t mean compromising on your desired event impact – style, quality and wow-factor are the watch-words now – and Alastair Currie Events is excellently placed to make dreams a reality. We are equally at home working with venues or in temporary structures (marquees, stretch tents, yurts, tipis), and there are a range of options available for every event.
We appreciate there is still an element of uncertainty, and we are enabling any client to transfer booking deposits paid to a future date within a 12 month period where needed due to Covid – working closely with our entire team for a smooth and efficient approach for everyone from our valued clients to our hard-working suppliers. We have been firmly supporting all of our clients with postponed occasions and we will continue to operate in this way going forward. It is important to us that we operate in a supportive and responsive manner, and we continue to build on this with every client.
